The Chinese culture is not the only culture to enjoy ginger's flavor. Egyptian and Roman diets both included the spice. Marco Polo even commented on ginger when documenting his travels along China’s silk route.
Though the Chinese share the spice with other cuultures, their use of ginger stands far above the rest. Garlic and ginger are both typically essential in Chinese cuisine. Ginger is integrated into most dishes, from stews to stir-fries, to give the dish a unique tang. Beyond its seasoning quality, ginger is packed with Vitamin C. Ginger’s on 7th Avenue serves up delicious cuisine to its neighborhood visitors specializing in Noodle Soup and Roast Duckling. With just shy of a thousand menu items, you’re sure to find something to please your palette. Don’t miss the lunch specials for under $6. Order from Ginger's to learn how the Chinese put ginger on the map.

Love the noodle soup, and BTW they have a great happy hour if you actually go there. But the egg roll was by far the most disgustingly greasy one I have ever had in my entire life. Choose your dishes carefully.

excellent food - reasonably quick delivery during LUnch rush -

Food got here VERY quickly, but the "spicy" dish I ordered was not very spicy.

ordered eggplant with garlic...literally all grease, no sauce, no flavor, just eggplant drenched in oil. i ate 3 bites and threw it away.
also, delivery said 15-30 min, but it took over 45 min to arrive. definitely won't be ordering from here again.

After waiting an hour for my food as per the email "expected delivery time" I called the restaurant and was told that the food was still sitting at the restaurant to be delivered. I cancelled to order.

I order from Ginger's all the time. It has now been almost one hour since I ordered, I work right across the street from them, and my food is still NOT HERE!!!! I called them three times already and they have said it is in the way or do I want to cancel? No, I do not want to cancel I WANT MY FOOD!!!! They just don't care!

Bad food... The menu offers no descriptions for how the food will be prepared, and all had very weird ingredients. Shrimp dumplings came smothered in a slimy, spicy peanut sauce. Pineapple fried rice was curry flavored. Spring rolls were so greasy and soggy that there was an oil pool in the container... The wonton soup tasted ok, but all the dumpling wrappers had disintegrated and separated from the pork so the soup was basically clear broth with pork balls. Will never order from here again...

First off, worst wonton soup I have ever had. The dumplings we undercooked, the meat was extremely bland, and the chinese cabbage was brown. I love spring rolls and the ones from this restaurant were also the worst I've ever had. They were cold, undercooked and incredibly dense and starchy. The food was 25 minutes late. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. There are plenty of better chinese restaurants to chose from. Lastly, I currently have a stomach ache after eating three of the dumplings from the soup and half of one of the spring rolls. Anyway, happy food hunting.

Good. Sauce is not thick like other Chinese restaurants. Lunch special comes with 2 mini egg rolls & little salad. But garlic sauce had too many chunks of garlic

The pineapple fried rice was terrible. They put curry in it and the taste with the pineapple was disappointing.

I can always count on Ginger's for prompt delivery and they get it! They always get the order right. The chicken wings are the best I have ever had and the Singapore Chow Fun is just as good. Try it, you'll like it!!

I give Ginger's a five because the food is always consistent. I've had their Szechuan dumplings in peanut sauce both shrimp and pork, the pan fried pork dumplings, general tso's chicken, chicken with broccoli all with white meat. Always the same clean, fresh anc frisp ingredients and fast, reliable delivery.

The food at Ginger's is always very fresh and flavourful. I usually recommend this place to my friends and co-workers in the area that are tired of the usual deli soup and/or salad meal. It's a great break-up from the monotony that is midtown Manhattan's lunch scene.
I would give it 5 stars, but sometimes they take up to 45mins to deliver when they are only a couple blocks away from my building. I would just order and pick it up, but in the winter time I very rarely leave the office ;)

The food was just O.K. Nothing special to write about, but they do give you a lot of food.

If you placed what I ordered in front of me and asked me to identify it, I would not guess it to be General Tso's Chicken. It is eatable, but the sauce is very watery. It could be worse, I guess.

Fastest delivery today ever! The order came in about 10 minutes, the food was piping hot. And delicious, as usual.

Should have been called Chinese broccoli stalks with a few pieces of chicken. What a disappointment! I threw most of the meal (stalks) away and I'm still hungry. Can't believe they have the nerve to call this "Spicy Chicken with Chinese Broccoli!" Won't order from this place again!

very speedy service and i LOVE that you added the optional "Tofu, $1"

Best Chinese food around! Delicious, reasonably priced, quick, and great selection. The best part is they deliver pretty far. My office is 11th and 45th and they deliver here. Also, if you can make it into the restaurant they have a great cheap happy hour. Who doesn't like cheap booze and eats!?

Not very good. I pretty much threw the entire order away. Too much sauce. Food served on the cold side. Not appetizing. Perhaps I called too close to closing time. Ginger's is usually WAY better than that. :-(

I love this place! It's my go to lunch place. Food is always fresh, and they cater to your health requests. It's great!!!

Yummy, I love the fact that I can choose to put the sauce on the side instead of in the food. Thanks for that option, it helps me consume less as I work towards eating better.

OILY! OILY! OILY! I can not stress how much oil they used in everything. I ordered the spicy beef noodle soup and I kid you not, the top third of the container was entirely oil. I spent half an hour sifting it out to try and get to the soup and finally gave up. We opened the braised beef container and it overflowed onto the table with, you guessed it, oil. The dumplings in hot oil, well that was to be expected. We just didn't expect EVERYTHING to be so oily. Needless to say, we barely ate any of it and opted for some fruit we had in the fridge to cut the grease.

Still waiting after over an hour, despite their estimated 15-30 minutes. I live just a few blocks away from them, so I ordered thinking it would be fairly quick. Sadly this was not the case.

We love their food- but their customer service is lacking :( Placed a big order (over $100) at 12:20 pm today and at 2:20 we are still waiting. Just went there to check and from what I can ascertain, our order was never filled. I was told to "go back and wait"- not easy considering the office full of hungry, cranky people waiting to eat lunch. I don't know if it's Seamless Web or the restaurant but I seriously will reconsider using either at this point.

I work right around the corner from Ginger's and my office has been ordering from them since they opened some years ago. They've always delivered really fresh and tasty food quickly, and I've never had any problems with rudeness or really long delivery time. The lunch specials are really good and you get a pretty good bang for your buck. I'm kind of surprised by some of the negative reviews. While it's probably true you can get better and more "authentic" Chinese food in Chinatown, there's a lack of clean and non-greasy-spoon-style Chinese restaurants in midtown. Ginger's is definitely a place that I recommend and will continue to enjoy!

Tried them 3 different times, got 3 similarly rude delivery people. Ginger's is across the street but sometimes I am just so busy that I can't leave my office. OK food, not spectacular, honestly pretty salty. I'd watch my step if I were you.

I had the spicy chicken with chinese veggies and it was pretty good. The chicken was a little bland but overall one of the best chinese places ive ordered in the midtown area.

Very late and brought the wrong order. Due to very late timing, i could not call and return it.

Great food at reasonable prices! Very fast delivery and prompt sit-down service. I particularly suggest the Szechuan Dumplings in Sesame Oil and the Beef & Scallops in Brown Sauce. The Corn Eggdrop Soup is a pleasant change from most Eggdrop soups.

dumplings in oil are covered in peanut sauce. they were terrible. description doesn't say peanuts in it. the szechuan chicken was soo bland and barely had any chicken in it (mostly veggies). The sesame beef was ok, but overcooked and tough. Overall, not recommended.

Wow. Should have tried out this place sooner. They gave me the wrong beef noodle but the tasting is clean that is completely surprising for a Chinese restaurant. The rest of the dishes are lovely too. Delivery time is prompt. Very happy customer.

Ordered Cantonese Wonton Soup & Roast Pork with rice. Soup was really good - clear, non-greasy, food flavor and smell wonderful. Roast pork was really nice, not dry and has a nice caramelization/ glaze on the outside.

Ordered almost two hours ago, still waiting. Will never order from them again. When I called the restaurant to follow up, the lady hung up on me! Terrible customer service. Do yourself a favor, order from Chef Yu! No star rating from me.

I ordered the beef with shrimp and scallop and was not a fan. It was heavily fried...tasted so unhealthy that I felt sick after a few bites.

Ordered Bean Curd Szechuan Style with Minced Pork. Got no Pork. No attempt to set it straight with me although I clearly ordered the pork - I was directed to seamlessweb. Not ordering again, because I like to know that I get what I pay for when I order food.

The food was great, but warning: If you don't move quickly enough the delivery person gets quite testy.
Have your money ready and hustle it, double time or else (lol)

Gingers chicken fried rice is to die for!! I love that they put edamame in it. You can also ask them to make it spicy, and it is absolutely delicious that way, too!
Posted 3 years ago by Olivia F.
While the American-style Chinese food on the menu is passable, I was hoping for something better. The Sichuan dishes are not "hot and spicy" -- they are sweet and swimming in grease, similar to the standard Chinese takeout fare.
Posted 3 years ago by Daniel M.
Their food is delicious. Fresh and tasty.

I ordered the shrimp pad thai. The shrimp were undercooked (dangerous) and the noodles had very little taste. I was very surprised since many people in my office enjoy this restaurant. Very disappointed.

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. Ordered CRISPY fish and got SOGGY fish instead. Repeat customers are not valued.
The owner called me after I submitted the order to advised me to order directly from the restuarant going forward (i.e. bypass Seamless Web system). Very sketchy!! Seamless Web should take note of this. They got my order wrong and they acknowledged that they did make a mistake when I called. When I asked for a replacement, THEY HUNG UP ON ME! Is that how you treat a paying customer??
